Central Kalahari Game Reserve

When is the best time to visit

The weather is hot most of the year, particularly Oct–Dec. The dry season (May–Oct) is a popular time to visit when wildlife viewing reaches its peak and large numbers of elephants gather along the Chobe Riverfront. Roads may become impassable during the rainy months (Nov–Apr), though this is also prime birdwatching time. The Okavango Delta – is hot most of the year, particularly Oct–Dec. Some roads may become impassable in the wet season (Nov–Mar). The drier months (Jul–Oct) are a popular time to visit when wildlife viewing reaches a peak. The Okavango Delta’s unique seasonal flooding occurs from Jun–Aug, during the dry season.

May–Aug sees warm days with cool nights. Moremi Game Reserve – The weather is hot most of the year, particularly Oct–Dec. The drier months (May–Oct) is a popular time to visit when wildlife viewing reaches a peak. The Okavango Delta’s seasonal flooding usually occurs from Jun–Aug. Roads may become impassable during the wet season (Nov–Mar). Maun – Dec–Jan, and Mar–May are common times to visit Maun. It’s hot most of the year, particularly Oct–Dec. The Okavango Delta’s seasonal flooding occurs during the dry season (Jun–Aug) when wildlife viewing on the delta and in the Moremi Game Reserve is at its peak. Roads in the reserve may become impassable in the wet season (Nov–Mar).
